What is a talent?[edit | edit source]

Talent is natural skill or ability given by God. It is also applied to person who has a natural skill or ability in something.

Look up and read two verses in the Bible that talk about talents.[edit | edit source]

Romans 12:6-8 (NIV)
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith;

7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach;

8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.

James 1:17 (NIV)
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.

According to 1 Corinthians 10:31, who should receive all the praise for your talent? Why?[edit | edit source]

God should always receive all praise for everything, including our skills and abilities. Because God created the world, God is supreme owner and we worship Him in all we do out of our love for Him.
