Conlang
From Wikibooks, the open-content textbooks collection
Conlang is part of the Conworld series of Wikibooks.
Conlanging is the art of creating languages. People create languages for all sorts of reasons, but unfortunately, a lot of them end up sounding and looking pretty similar to whatever the conlanger's native language is. These are called "relexes" by the conlanging community. We at the Conlang Wikibook want to help you make the language that you'd like to make, not the one that you already speak.
This book is split into three sections which each require a different level of linguistic skill. The book is intended to be read in order, but more proficient readers may skip earlier sections.
[edit] How to Contribute
You may contribute any linguistic knowledge you have, but keep in mind this book is a tutorial for anyone wishing to create a language. A high-quality article will be easy to understand while going in-depth, and will possibly explain how it could be used in a conlang. Examples and detailed explanations are great things to have, without being redundant or droning on. So get out there and make some good articles!
[edit] Table of Contents
Before each section there is an image with a subjective indication of how complete that section is.
means that content and organisation has yet to be fully decided.
means that the information is scattered, incomplete, or may be unreliable.
means that much of the information is there but it needs to be touched up or organised. This is still usable.
means that the information is essentially complete. However, more detail can always be added.
