This page contains useful information about the Wikibooks project While this is not a listing of rules or policies, it contains information about an important Wikibooks process, custom etc. This page should be helpful to our users; please let us know if it is not.

Wikibooks is a Wikimedia project for collaboratively writing educational content on various subjects. Wikibooks has two sub-projects; Wikijunior which is aimed at children and the Cookbook which is our collection of recipes and culinary topics.

All content on Wikibooks is released under the GNU Free Documentation License that ensures that books will remain freely distributable forever. See also Wikibooks:Copyrights.

Wikibooks is very much a community effort, so feel free to improve the existing content or add new books or modules, and join project related discussions in the Wikibooks reading rooms.
