These are traditional chewy chocolate chip cookies with oatmeal added to provide a bit of extra body to the cookie.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
For 12 medium-sized cookies:
- 1 stick butter, softened
- ⅓ cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp baking soda
- 1 cup plus 2 tbsp flour
- ¼ cup rolled oats (oatmeal)
- ½ cup chocolate chips
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Preheat oven to 375˚F.
- Cream butter and sugars.
- Add egg and vanilla and mix.
- Add salt, baking soda, and flour; mix.
- Add oatmeal; mix.
- Add chocolate chips; mix.
- Scoop cookies onto a greased or parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake 9 to 11 minutes at 375˚F.
