Goldsmith Defense/Reversed Kadas Variation/ Rook Gambit[edit | edit source]
1...h5?![edit | edit source]
The Goldsmith Defence, also known as Rook Gambit, is an uncommon and a weak response to 1.e4, this is a rather useless move that does nothing to control the centre, and seriously weakens black’s kingside, it threatens to bring the H Rook into the game, but can be easily stopped with d4 and white is already in control of the centre and has a better activity on pieces, overall, this defence is not good and is never seen in serious plays, but this opening can be funny and useful for trolling in a chess game.
