Caro-Kann Defence: Exchange Variation
[edit | edit source]White exchanges on d5, and black almost always responds with cxd5. This forms opposite-wing majorities. This usually will lead into a Panov-Botvinnik Attack, although independent lines can arise after 4.Bd3.
