Position in Forsyth-Edwards Notation (FEN)
Moves: 1.c4 g5
ECO code: A10
Parent: English Opening

English Opening: Myers Defence[edit | edit source]

After playing 1. c4, White can no longer support the centre with c3. By playing a version of Grob's Attack, Black intends to put pressure on d4. Nevertheless, White obtains a significant advantage but must play carefully because Black puts a lot of pressure on White's queenside.
