Wikibooks:Maintenance

From Wikibooks, open books for an open world

As well as editing, many people at Wikibooks are involved in maintenance tasks. Most of these tasks can be done by any user, not just administrators. Maintenance work is a vital part of keeping Wikibooks running optimally. Please, help us make Wikibooks a better project!

Deletions Recent-changes patrolling
  • New pages - Check for very short pages, use {{delete}} to mark pages for speedy deletion, place {{query}} on pages that might just be in a transition stage to becoming real books and categorise uncategorised modules.
  • Recent changes of anonymous users - Your first place to look for spam and vandalism. Should you find a few good edits by an anonymous user, consider adding {{joinus}} to their talk page to encourage him or her to create an account here.
  • Newbies' contributions - Verify edits by new users, insert {{subst:welcome}} or {{subst:bigwelcome|~~~~}} to welcome them (we don't add welcome text to users without any edits).
  • Pending changes - Accept or reject edits to previously reviewed pages.
