What are the factors that induce people to stay?

  • Opportunities are benefits brought by an area.
  • Risks encourage people to move away from an area.
  • They are also influenced by their own perceptions of hazards, their knowledge and experiences with the hazard, and attributes like age, sex, religious beliefs, traditional values, etc.
