Wikibooks:Templates

Templates are used on pages to standardise presentation or as a short-hand for complex markup.

This page offers a gateway to general templates to be used for various purposes throughout Wikibooks. Book-specific templates should be placed in Category:Book specific templates. Cookbook templates are in Category:Cookbook templates. All templates should be filed in sub-categories of Category:Templates.

Book information: Scope, level, etc.
General: General formatting
Sources: Wikibooks should cite sources where possible. Wikibooks has a number of templates that standardise sources and simplify referring to them.
Links: There is a small number of templates to standarise links to other wikibooks and our sister projects.
Navigation: Here you will find generic navigation templates, both for modules in a book, and sections on modules.
Files: This page list license templates that comply with Wikibooks' media policy and templates for embedding media on pages.
Media namespace: Lists links to media files (including print versions, which maybe belong somewhere else... --Swift (talk) 16:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC))

Maintenance: Useful templates for maintaining books (quality notices, refactoring, etc)
Talk page maintenance: Signatures and archives.
Licensing issues notices: Tags for copyrights issues etc.
Deletion: Notices for deletion, and describing the discussion results.
