Ingredients
[edit | edit source]- 110 g (3.9 oz / 1 stick) unsalted butter, plus extra for greasing
- 180 g (6.3 oz / 1 cup) soft light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 225 g (7.9 oz / 1¾ cups) plain flour
- 30 g (1.1 oz / ¼ cup) cocoa powder
- 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- 60 g (2.1 oz / ¾ cup) white chocolate chips
- 60 g (2.1 oz / ¾ cup) milk chocolate chips
Procedure
[edit | edit source]- Preheat the oven to 190 °C (374 °F). Grease 3 baking trays.
- Mix the flour, cocoa, bicarbonate of soda and salt in a bowl.
- Beat the butter and sugar in a mixing bowl until soft and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients.
- Fold the chocolate chips into the dough.
- Spoon heaped tablespoons of dough onto the baking trays, well spaced apart.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes. If you want a chewy texture, reduce the time to 10 minutes.
- Transfer the cookies to wire racks and leave them to cool.
