Procedure[edit | edit source]

  1. Soak the uncooked rice in water until softened. Grind well.
  2. Mix the cooked rice into the ground rice.
  3. Stir in milk, yeast, baking powder, sugar, and salt to taste.
  4. Stir in the chopped onions. Cover and let rest for several minutes to allow the mixture to rise.
  5. Heat some oil in a pan.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of batter in the pan. Cook until golden on each side and cooked through. Repeat until all batter is used up.
  7. Serve masa with soup or suya yaji.
