Iru pepper soup is made with catfish and iru.

Preparation[edit | edit source]

  1. Cut the fish into pieces. Wash it very well with salt to remove all the slime and dirt.
  2. Blend the pepper with the onions to make a paste.
  3. Transfer the blended pepper to a pot with the iru, and allow to boil very well.
  4. Add the fish and the crayfish, cover, and let steam a little. Add any condiments and salt to taste.
  5. Allow to steam for 10 minutes.
  6. Remove from the heat and serve with agidi.
