Epipactis
[edit | edit source]No Epipactis (helleborine) species are native to eastern North America, and the only one known to naturalize there is broad-leaved helleborine (the "weed orchid", Epipactis helleborine), which can be found in wooded areas in much of New York State.
The New York Flora atlas also lists Epipactis palustris (marsh orchid) collected only in Rensselaer County in 1990. The only research-grade iNaturalist observation of Epipactis palustris in North America is in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania (June 2014).[1] |
