In the Dungeons & Dragons fantasy roleplaying game, the animated object is a type of fictional monster for player characters to encounter.
Description [edit]
Animated objects are constructs which come in all shapes, sizes, and colors. They owe their existence to spells such as animate objects and similar supernatural abilities.[2] Such objects act according to the commands of their creator; they lack intelligence and have only a minimum of wisdom. The abilities of an animated object vary based upon their type; rugs can grapple, objects with legs can run, heavy objects can trample, and so forth.
Publication history [edit]
Animated objects first appeared in the third edition Monster Manual. They also appeared in the 3.5 version of the Monster Manual.
