[edit] Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons, commonly referred to as "D ' and ' D", is a table top Role-Playing Game, or RPG, developed in 1974. Currently, the game is produced by Wizards of the Coast, and is in an updated form of the third edition, version "3.5".

The game is most often played on a table top or desk, usually with some type of miniatures or figures as a visual reference for the in-game action. Players create characters, selecting them based on race, class, and a set of random attributes such as Strength, Intelligence, and Charisma. One person, called the Dungeon Master, or DM, manages the game, creating the world within which the game takes place, and controlling all non-player characters, or NPCs. Players, and NPCs, resolve their actions using a set of statistics determined by their attributes and various other factors and dice, most often a 20 sided die, or d20.
