Hello, and welcome to Wikibooks!

Here are some tips to help you get started:

• To learn the wiki-markup-language syntax, see Help:Editing.
• Make sure to sign your posts and comments with four tildes, like this: ~~~~
  • There is a box at the top of the edit window (if javascript is enabled on your browser) that will insert it too (looks like part of a signature). This will let others know who left it, and make it easy to reply back to you.
• Remember to conduct any editing experiments in the sandbox (global to the system) or in a page on your own userspace.
• Remember to use Commons project for image uploading.
• You can tell the community something about yourself in your userpage.
  • You can get to this page by clicking the tab at the top of the page labeled with your registered username.
• Wikibooks are open-source textbooks. (What is Wikibooks).

Crediting Wikipedia

You can credit Wikipedia as you did (good only for a monolithic 1 page project) or credit it in a subpage that deals with copyrights/authors, you can in substitution chose to credit the articles editors by requesting a transwiki of the source page and request an history merge. --Panic (discuss • contribs) 08:43, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Thanks, I will try requesting import and merge as you suggested. It was obvious that substantial parts of the book were copied from wikipedia:Support vector machine judging by the result of google search. --Whym (discuss • contribs) 09:47, 3 February 2012 (UTC)

Just noticed that it has a history of being merged with the Wikipedia page. There does not seem to be further import needed. I could remove the Wikipedia Credit template, but wouldn't it be better to keep to not confuse other people just like I did? --Whym (discuss • contribs) 09:55, 3 February 2012 (UTC)
