Introduction[edit | edit source]

Math is sometimes difficult to understand, and may sometimes even seem like it is pointless, but still teachers are convinced that learning math is important. Why? It's not easy to answer that because math doesn't have just one single use. It is used everywhere- even in places that you wouldn't expect.

Math can — believe it or not — be used to make very hard problems much easier, and it can solve some problems that could not be solved at all without it. Many of the uses of math are just too hard to understand without actually knowing the math, but there are also many uses you can probably do now! This book will try to help you understand what kinds of things you can do with the basic math you already know, and then it will show you some of the cool things you can do with math and what you need to learn to get there!
