El Departamento de Defensa - the Department of Homeland Security (USA)

uh, I'm not sure how I slipped this one. "Defensa" is "Defense" (like in bombing foreign countries). "Homeland Security" would be something like "Seguridad Interior", but don't take my word for it, as I'm unsure about the official name.

electores=Wähler , electorado=Wählerschaft , "electorados" is very seldomly right

mostrar: yo muestro, tú muestras, él muestra, nosotros mostramos, vosotros mostráis, ellos muestran

I told you the verbs would be a much bigger problem than accentuation ;)

iban - 3.Person Plural Simple Past ->ir (va)
es asesinado - is killed, (assassinated) (Attentat)
sobre - about
se dirige a - goes to, heads to
Sudáfrica - South Africa
preguntar - to ask
la guerra - the war
occurir - to occur (to happen, passieren)

it's defective, I can't at present think of any sense outside 3rd person, as in "ocurre que tengo prisa", or "ha ocurrido un terrible accidente", or "estas cosas ocurren"

ok, but what is a defective verb? a verb that does not have all persons??

"yo ocurro" can only make sense if spoken by a abstract being, like an earthquake. You can construct every person (tú ocurres, él ocurre, nosotros ocurrimos, vosotros ocurrís, ellos ocurren), but it makes not a lot of sense to put an effort in learning them, as the probability of encountering them is extremely low.

lealista, communista, reformista, egoista - adjectves with no gender

de + el -> del

enfermedad inusualmente contagiosa - unusual highly contagious disease 

será - he,she,it will (future of es)

para esto objetivo - por esta causa

voy a comer porque tengo hambre - I will eat because I am hungry
voy a preparar un bocadillo para comérmelo - I will make a sandwich "to eat"
voy a preparar un bocadillo para la merienda - I will make a sandwich for the picnic
voy a preparar un bocadillo para Juan - I will make a sandwic for Juan
voy al trabajo por la autopista - I drive on the highway on my way to my work
voy al trabajo para ganar dinero - I go to work (in order) to gain money
voy al trabajo porque es mi obligación - I go to work because it is my obligation
trabajo por comida - I work for the food
trabajo para comer - I work to eat
trabajo para el gobierno - I work for the government (I am occupied/working in the government)
dos por tres, seis - 2 times 3 is 6
seis dulces para tres amigos, dos para cada uno - six sweets on 3 friends, 2 for each one 

por mí podemos hacer lo que queráis: me da igual - we can do whatever you like, I don't care

here, "por mí" is a kind of a contraction for "por lo que a mí respecta" meaning "as far as I'm concerned"

para mí que su compleaños es hoy, pero no estoy seguro de recordarlo bien - I think today is his birthday, but I'm not sure, I recall it correctly
