A Little About Me
Hello! My name is Molly Carter and I am an English major with a concentration in education at Old Dominion University. I just transfered here from Radford University, and am currently a junior. I am twenty years old and was born and raised in Blacksburg, Virginia-- GO HOKIES! I have an older brother, Joey, who is twenty nine, and an older sister, Abby, who is twenty six. I just moved to Virginia Beach after Christmas of 2008, to be with my fiance, Derek, who is in the navy. He and I will be getting married this July, and I am so excited! In addition to this, we just bought a little puppy, Charlie, who is a miniature Dachshund. She is adorable!
My Teaching Philosophy
I first knew I wanted to be a teacher my senior year in High School. I had the best English teacher-- who actually turned my hate for English into a passion. My philosophy for teaching, I believe, is just like hers. I think a teacher, whether they teach English, P.E., art, or whatever, should love what they teach. They need to have a passion and enthusiam for their subject, and really get the students involved and appreciate learning. My philosophy is that the actual classroom should have an equal amount of cirriculum and structure as well as an openness to invite open thought from the students and make them feel comfortable.
