My name is Kaitlyn Austin. I am a junior at ODU studying to be a teacher for Pre-K to 6th. I currently live in Gloucester, Virginia where I live with my mom and brother. I was president of the Alpha Tau Omega chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at RCC. Aside from work and school I love to reading and hang with friends.
When it comes to teaching I believe in making it fun but have some structure to the classroom. I believe that teaching things can be done outside of lectures with games, videos, and fun activities. I love teaching and working with small children because when they learn new things and figure out things for themselves they get such a look of accomplishment on their faces that that is reward enough for me. When teaching new things to children I feel that by having fun and making it interesting to the children shows them that going to school and learning can be fun.
