ABOUT ME

My name is Jessica and I am 22 years old. I am currently a junior at Old Dominion University. I am a native of Chesapeake and have lived here all my life. I attended Hickory High School the first two years and graduated from Oscar F. Smith High School. To me family is a big part of life and my first priority after God. I attend church regularly every sunday and afterwards spend time and have dinner with the family. I am the youngest of two sisters and one brother. My mother is a very strong woman and is the role model in my life. In my spare time I like to go out and have fun with my friends, listen to music, watch basketball and boxing, and spend time with my Lil' Greedy! All around I am a very fun, cheerful, and grateful person.

MY TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

My teaching philosophy is that teachers should create a learning environment that students will enjoy. This environment should be pleasurable but also very instructional. I believe teachers should develop their own creative and distinctive way of teaching to accommodate theirselves and also the students. Teachers need to get students engaged so they will be excited to learn the subject. Once students are engaged they will be alert in class, willing to participate, and most importantly eager to learn.

I will be a very pleasant, fun, and down to earth teacher but my students will still have that level of respect for me. I want to be that teacher that students will look forward to coming to class each day. I want my students to say that they are grateful to have had a teacher like me. Most of all I want my students to learn!
