This template provides structure and links for weed control methods. It should be added to the "Controls" section of weed profiles.

Using Template:Weedcontrol

This template is automatically included by the page template {{Weedprof}}.

Fill in only the fields for which there is information. Unused lines should be left blank to be filled in later.

• Mowing: discuss here whether mowing is effective, and if it should be done at any particular time
• Cultivation: discuss whether cultivating is effective
• Mulching (for prevention): discuss whether mulching as a preventative is effective (e.g.: will this weed germinate if it gets no exposure to light? will this weed germinate in a mulch if seeds land on it?)
• Girdling: Is girdling effective? (Applies to trees, shrubs, and vines only.)
• Coppicing: Can the plant be kept coppiced to prevent seed production? (Applies to trees, shrubs, and vines only.)
• Grinding: Will the tree sprout from outer roots after grinding? (Applies to trees, shrubs, and vines only.)
• Pulling: is the plant hard to pull? are there any particular techniques that should be used?
• Flame: is flame-weeding effective?
• Barriers: are barriers effective? how long do they need to be kept in place?
• Solarization: is solarization a good approach for controlling this weed?
• Pre-emergents (organic): discuss whether organic pre-emergents (such as Corn Gluten meal) are effective, and when to apply
• Pre-emergents (synthetic): discuss whether synthetic pre-emergents are effective, which ones, and when to apply
• Contact herbicides (organic): discuss whether organic contact herbicides are effective, which ones, and when to apply

• Disposal: can this plant be safely composted? if so, only in certain times during it's development? Hot piles only? Is the plant so aggressive that it should always be burned? Does the plant contain persistent allelopathic chemicals that should be kept out of the compost pile?
