Week 3 - Amateur Athletes

Outlook

Conducted face to face interviews with 7 amateur Robina Dolphins Cricket Club players. 7 questionnaires were also sent to 7 Indian amateur Cricket players by email to gain a global perspective. Their response will be analyzed in Week 4 of the customer discovery process. This questionnaire was developed to gain an amateur athlete's perspective regarding the functionality and requirement for a platform such as TTIN.com. The idea behind this questionnaire and demographic was to gauge a contrast between paid and unpaid amateur athletes, the prior being the Student-Athletes from Bond University in Weeks 1 and 2.

Results

Administered 7 face to face interviews to amateur Robina Cricket Club Players. The following are some of the key responses:

- 85% have participated in amateur sports for over 20 years.

- 71% have received compensation for participation in amateur sports.

- 71% felt an online recruitment site for amateur athletes would be beneficial.

- 57% felt there was a lack of accessibility to professional sporting opportunities for amateur athletes.

- 100% access the internet on a daily basis.

- 71% felt that a 30 free trial period would affect their sign up decision.

- 85% would be open to paying $20 as a sign up fee.

- 57% were highly comfortably with playing sports overseas.

- 100% felt an online global scouting network would be beneficial to amateur athletes.

- 85% have tried to play Cricket professionally. Main obstacles faced were high level of competition, injury and lack of opportunity.

- 71% would be open to suggestions regarding management of their portfolio.

- 85% felt online recruitment websites are effective.


Conclusions

All Robina Cricket Club player interviews and questionnaires will be analyzed in Week 4 once the 7 Indian Cricket player responses are gather, so all feedback can be compared at the same time.
