There are 21 Electric Pokémon. Of these, 9 are first generation, 8 are second generation and 4 are third generation.

Of the 21 Electric Pokémon, 16 are pure Bug. The other 5 are Water(2), Steel(2) and Flying(1).

The type matching of the Electric type hasn't changed, nor has the type matching of Flying, the only co-type of Electric in the first generation Pokémon. However, Magnemite and Magneton gained the Steel type, which changes their type-matching information. For type matching information on them for Red/Blue/Yellow, use the "Pure Type" line only.

  1. Pure Electric Pokémon are only weak to Ground. All the multi-type Electric Pokémon are weak to other types.
  2. Zapdos is immune to Ground moves.
