Clamping Phase

[edit | edit source]

Clamping phase is the first phase of any injection moulding cycles. The primary functions is to quickly and safely closing the mould to prepare for the incoming process.

The moving mould at first is moving at high speed towards the fixed mould. The moving mould then is slowed down to avoid slamming into fixed mould. To prevent any moulding issues, the mechanisms for clamping are needed to be ensure so that they are stiff and rigid as well as the force applied to each tie bar is equally spread.
