Lyme disease was found for the first time in 1975 in the town of Lyme in Connecticut State of United States. So, it is called Lyme disease. Lyme disease is an infectious disease, which is caused by bacteria and transmitted by ticks. It first affects the skin, and then the joints and nervous system. It may even spread to other organs if not treated.
