Chemistry is a fundamental natural science subject that study the characteristics, compositions, structures and laws of change of substances. The subject of chemistry study involves the interactions between substances or the interactions between matters and energy. Traditional chemistry always involves the contact and changes of two substances, that is chemical reaction, or is a process of a substance changing into another substance. These changes sometimes need electromagnetism, in which electromagnetism is involved in triggering chemical actions. But sometimes chemistry needs not to be involved in reactions between substances. Spectroscopy studys the relationships between substances and light, and these relationships do not involve chemical reactions.
