Vernon Francis "Vern" Kenna was a prominent amateur operator, amateur broadcaster, amateur club participant in the late 1920s and early 1930s. His station callsign was 4FK (4=Queensland, F=Francis, K=Kenna) and he operated from Brisbane, Queensland. He joined the Postmaster-General's Department and rose over the years to be a senior broadcasting engineer. As his professional responsibilities increased his amateur radio hobby activities were largely supplanted by yachting.
