John Clarey Price was a prominent amateur operator, amateur broadcaster, amateur club administrator in the late 1920s and early 1930s. From the mid 1920s, his wireless retail activities with his own business "Wireless House" increasingly precluded amateur activities. From 1910 through 1922, he was with the PMGD, eventually qualifying as an engineer. His station callsign was either 4FI or 4FJ (4=Queensland, F=??, I=?? or J=??) and he operated from Brisbane (Bardon), Queensland.
