Visulex Electronic Game Kit in January 1977.

History[edit | edit source]

Background[edit | edit source]

Visulex manufactured a game console kit which was meant to teach students about electronics.[1]

Launch[edit | edit source]

According to a 1975 ad, the schematics could be ordered for $1, with a component cost of $40.[2]

By May 1976 Visulex kits were still being advertised.[3] Given it's confirmed existence by January 1977, it is among the oldest such consoles to pursue this concept.

Media continued to feature the system through at least January 1977,[1] and possibly longer.
