Console developer HAL Laboratory released the MZ-80C on October 14, 2017.[1] Some instead claims a release date of October 5th, 2019,[2] however, articles published earlier reference the release of the device in 2017.[3]

A launch event occurred at Akihabara Radio Kaikan.[4] The system was received well by reviewers.[5]

The system cost 19,800 Japanese Yen at launch[6] a price maintained in 2022.[7]

The system was based on a Raspberry Pi type A+.[8][9][5]

Software[edit | edit source]

The system ran MZ-80C software via emulation.[8]

The system supported a version of Smile Basic.[8]

Hardware[edit | edit source]

The system was designed to open up via a hinge.[8][1]
