M&D manufactured the Monon Color.[1] Some firmware versions are dated to July 30th, 2014.[2]
Launch[edit | edit source]
The Monon Color was released in China on either September 30th, 2014,[3] or sometime in October 2014.[4] The price of the system was 100 RMB.[3][4]
Legacy[edit | edit source]
In Feburary 2021 "Team Europe" produced a third party 128 megabit flashcart and dumping tool was released for the system.[5]

The Monon Color is powered by an AX208 SOC, which contains a 8051 derived CPU with 16-bit opcodes clocked at 96 megahertz with additional facilities such as AV decoders.[6]
The system is said to have 16 kilobytes of RAM.[7]
Hardware[edit | edit source]
The system has a TFT LCD with a resolution of 320 pixels by 240 pixels.[1]
Cartridges were used as a game media.[8]
The system was capable of wireless communication through the use of an IR port.[1]
The handheld was powered by 3 AA batteries.[1]
The unique design of the D-pad was noted.[1]
