Gyakuten Kenji 2/Episode 4: The Forgotten Turnabout
After weeks of threats, Miles Edgeworth is finally brought to stand before the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee. The meeting is to discuss his aptitude and ability as a prosecutor. Meanwhile, Kay Faraday is at the viewing platform at the top of the 50-floor Grand Tower. She is confronted by someone she doesn't recognise, but who is wearing a familiar red raincoat. But before she can get any answers, she's falling from the top of the tower...

Miles Edgeworth / 御剣 怜侍 (みつるぎ れいじ Mitsurugi Reiji)
The character you control in this game. Edgeworth is finally forced to hand in his prosecutor’s badge in this chapter, after weeks of threats - but he’s not about to let that stop him from following the path to the truth.

Raymond Shields / 信楽 盾之 (しがらき たてゆき Shigaraki Tateyuki)
A defence attorney, and former assistant to Edgeworth's father, Gregory Edgeworth. When Edgeworth relinquishes his prosecutor’s badge, Ray asks Edgeworth to join him at his father's law firm. Which path will Edgeworth choose to follow?

Sebastian Debeste / 一柳 弓彦 (いちやなぎ ゆみひこ Ichiyanagi Yumihiko)
A clueless rookie prosecutor who insists that he is "The Best", but in reality is a complete cloud-cuckoo-lander. He very quickly finds himself the target of Franziska’s whipping after arriving late to the crime scene.
Franziska von Karma / 狩魔 冥 (かるま めい Karuma Mei)
A renowned prosecutor, and the daughter of Edgeworth’s former mentor Manfred von Karma. She is currently working with Interpol on the trail of an international smuggling ring - but the eyes of the world aren’t going to stop her whip from having its way.

Jill Crane / 籠目 つばさ (かごめ つばさ Kagome Tsubasa)
The victim in this case. A defence attorney, and a member of the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee, who was killed in the very meeting room in which Edgeworth was due to appear later that day.
Suspect / 被疑者[edit | edit source]
Kay Faraday / 一条 美雲 (いちじょう みくも Ichijō Mikumo)
Edgeworth’s self-appointed assistant, and the self-proclaimed successor to the Great Thief Yatagarasu... except she can no longer remember any of this, or how she ended up in hospital, or how she came to be accused of murder. Just what happened to her?

Dick Gumshoe / 糸鋸 圭介 (いとのこぎり けいすけ Itonokogiri Keisuke)
A homicide detective with the local police force. The events of this chapter hit him harder than anyone else, except for Edgeworth himself.
Karin Jenson / 武藤 瞳子 (むとう とうこ Mutō Tōko)
A nurse in the employ of the Dye-Young Hospital, who was responsible for finding Kay after the latter’s accident. She has a strange fondness for giving injections and misdiagnosing people with lupus.
Bonnie Young / 伊丹 乙女 (いたみ おとめ Itami Otome)
The director of the Dye-Young Hospital, and the grandmother of Karin Jenson, who is responsible for carrying out the autopsy on the victim. She communicates exclusively by relaying her words through her granddaughter.
Justine Courtney / 水鏡 秤 (みかがみ はかり Mikagami Hakari)
A judge, and a member of the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee. After weeks of threatening Edgeworth with the loss of his badge, she finally gets her wish - though the circumstances are anything but pleasant for either party involved.
Blaise Debeste / 一柳 万才 (いちやなぎ ばんさい Ichiyanagi Bansai)
Chairman of the Prosecutorial Investigation Committee, and the father of Sebastian Debeste. He has a tendency to cry a lot, causing the tears to flood the goggles he always wears.
Ema Skye / 宝月 茜 (ほうづき あかね Hōdzuki Akane)
A high school student currently studying abroad to become a forensic investigator, who you may recognise from some of Edgeworth’s earlier cases. Scientifically speaking, her forensic skills come in handy for proving Kay’s innocence.
Lotta Hart / 大沢木 ナツミ (おおさわぎ なつみ Ōsawagi Natsumi)
A so-called “investigative photographer” who claims to have witnessed the murder while on the lookout for her next “big scoop”. You may remember her from a certain defence attorney’s time in the courtroom.
