Wainar filawa is a type of Hausa pancake. Waina is a type of fried cake, and filawa refers to flour, so the name roughly translates to 'flour pancake'. This version contains added vegetables.

Procedure[edit | edit source]

  1. Combine flour and salt in a bowl.
  2. Gradually stir in water until you have a batter of medium thickness.
  3. Stir in some palm oil, then the sliced onions and pepper.
  4. Heat a frying pan, and brush with a small amount of oil
  5. Pour the batter into the pan, and cook until it turns golden.
  6. Flip the pancake, and cook until golden.
  7. Remove from the heat, and serve.
