Lady finger is an ambiguous term that can mean:

  • Okra, a green vegetable from Africa.
  • Savoiardi, a kind of small sponge cake cookie from Italy.
  • In North America, "ladyfinger" typically refers to a more modernized, smaller, thinner cookie than the traditional savoiardi, from which its name is taken; the two are often used interchangeably, but are completely different in flavour and texture, with the newer more closely resembling uncoated chocolate fingers.
  • The "lady finger" cocktail.
