- 8 gallons water
- 5 pounds barley meal
- 4 herrings, meat pounded
- Salt, pepper, vinegar, and herbs, to taste
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Combine water and barley meal.
- Boil it to the consistency of a thick jelly.
- Season it with salt, pepper, vinegar, sweet herbs. Add the herring meat.
