Denderu is a typical traditional way of cooking ram meat by the Kanuri tribe. It is easy to prepare.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
- Onions, sliced
- Fresh chile pepper
- Maggi cubes
- Salt to taste
- Mutton, sliced
Procedure[edit | edit source]
- Pound together the onions and pepper in a mortar to make a paste. Mix in the maggi cubes and season with salt to taste.
- Rub the pepper paste all over the mutton.
- Bake the meat until soft.
Notes, tips, and variations[edit | edit source]
- During the preparation of denderu, the abdominal and the head parts of the ram are excluded.
