A deciliter, abbreviated dl (or sometimes 'dL' only in the US, Canada and Australia), is one tenth of a liter, or 100 mililiters. One deciliter is equal to a little more than 0.4 cups; a rough conversion of 1/2 cup per deciliter will work in many cases.
