This book is written for teachers and parents of young children to help them select the very best in children's literature. It is written by practicing teachers in a graduate children's literature class at Ashland University. The book contains ten chapters covering eight genres (types) of children's literature, picture book illustrations, and children's book awards. Each module includes an introduction and explanation of the topic, criteria for selecting high quality books and descriptions of excellent book examples.
