The Armenian Genocide
American newspaper reporting on the Armenian Genocide

This wikibook will look at the situation in which the Armenian Genocide was able to take place. It will look into those involved and where and when important events took place, to try and establish a clear picture of the extent of what has happened.

The Armenian genocide was an extremely terrible series of acts, which caused the deaths of many Turkish Armenians. Estimates of the death rate stand at about 1.5 million Armenians killed throughout the genocide (Adalian), and 800,000 Armenians killed in 1915 alone, (Balakian, 179). Primarily, these terrible incidents were the work of three treacherous leaders: Abdul Hamid II, Talet Pasha, and Talet Bay.
