Introduction[edit | edit source]

The goal of this section is to lay out some common methods for assessing the total fatigue damage effect of varying loads.

It is not unusual to have several varying loads affecting an engineering product. Unfortunately, textbooks on fatigue analysis seldom offer adequate descriptions of how such systems should be analyzed. Section Multiple Loads presents a discussion on this matter.
