Introduction[edit | edit source]

We define Failure Mode as a possible condition where an engineering structure fails to operate as intended. This includes different forms of material failure, excessive vibrations and deformations.

The covered failure modes are discussed in great detail. Related mechanisms, analysis methods, failure criteria, environmental influences, material aspects etc. are covered extensively.
