Even though we're chased out, Edgeworth insists on finding the true murderer. Our first order of business is to find the real crime scene. Gumshoe arrives and informs us about a witness at the stadium. There's no one here... except Ema Skye, someone you may know from the first game and Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney. She was a witness in one of Edgeworth's cases and is now studying abroad to become a forensic scientist, so she's only in the country for spring break. Talk to her:

  • Ema Skye: Ema mentions something about a footprint spray. That could be useful.
  • The witness: Ema didn't witness anything, though she did say that Gumshoe had called her there.

Examine the Pink Badgermobile parked nearby. The Pink Badger runs to the stadium. There's nothing to do but to talk to her. It turns out that she is none other than Wendy Oldbag, a character from the first and second games! Watch out for her - she loves talking but loves Edgeworth more!

  • Wendy Oldbag: Nothing useful to you. If you want to know more, the first two games will allow you to know her better.
  • The witness: Oldbag says she did see the murder!

Well, that's a major scoop! Best find out exactly what she saw.

Testimony: Wendy Oldbag[edit | edit source]

Wendy Oldbag's Testimony
- What Oldbag Witnessed -

  1. I came to this stadium to take a short break.
  2. As I was resting, I happened to glance over and I saw two men facing each other in the area.
  3. Suddenly, there was a loud gunshot, and the person who was shot fell to the ground.
  4. It was a very terrifying experience, let me tell you!

Rebuttal: What Oldbag Witnessed[edit | edit source]

Press on all the statements. Oldbag doesn't remember any of the men's features because she thought they were too uninteresting. Kay now shows us a weird new gadget that she claims is her secret weapon. After inputting some information into the device, she projects the image over the whole area. She introduces us to Little Thief, a projection device that can simulate any situation! This could show errors in a witness' testimony.

Investigation: Stadium Re-creation[edit | edit source]

File:AAIME Case 03 Logic 06.png
File:AAIME Victims Costume.png

An investigation in a re-creation is the same as normal. Just walk up to things and examine them. Examine the victim's body. Edgeworth says that this scene contradicts the facts of the murder. Present Mr. Deacon's Murder Notes. There's no blood on the floor, but Wendy isn't someone who would lie to Edgeworth. You get the Why is there no blood? logic.

Now go into Logic Mode and connect Victim was kidnapper? with Why is there no blood?. If the victim was a kidnapper and was shot while wearing a costume, it can explain why there isn't any blood on the crime scene. If only we could prove that he was wearing a costume. We need to find footprints and we can't see any. Well, there is one person who could help us out with that. Talk to Ema.

  • Footprint analysis: Ema agrees to help us find footprints using her science kit.

After some spraying, Ema detects footprints. They aren't visible to the naked eye, though they are when wearing Ema's special glasses. The victim was wearing a costume at the time he died. Victim's Costume is added to your Organizer. Kay updates her re-creation with the footprints, and that marks the completion of our investigation! Edgeworth notes that there's something that he's suspicious of. We hear Oldbag's testimony again.

Rebuttal: What Oldbag Witnessed[edit | edit source]

Present the Victim's Costume at statement 2. How did she know that the victim and the killer were men if they were wearing costumes? And why didn't she mention the costumes in her testimony? Oldbag says she made the mistake as she witnessed it from the second tier seats of the stadium. She says she couldn't see what they looked like because they were in the stage's shadow. You get the In the shadow of the stage logic. Now we can resume our investigation.

Investigation: Stadium Re-creation[edit | edit source]

File:AAIME Case 03 Logic 07.png

First, examine the stage. It looks like they broke the stage down since you last saw it. You get the Stage was packed up logic. Now go into Logic Mode and connect Stage was packed up with In the shadow of the stage. If Oldbag's testimony was true, the murder must have happened before the stage was broken down. Kay updates her re-creation and... aha! A blatant contradiction! Unless the killer could move through solid metal, he couldn't have been standing there. Oldbag claims that she did see the killer standing on the stage when they shot the victim. Kay updates the re-creation again. There's something not right about this scene, but our investigation is cut short as Agent Lang arrives. He instructs his men to recreate the scene in reality and still asserts that Officer Meekins was the killer.

Argument: Agent Lang[edit | edit source]

Shi-Long Lang
Shi-Long Lang
Shi-Long Lang's Argument
- Agent Lang's Logic -

  1. This is the real scene of the crime.
  2. Officer Meekins lay in wait for the victim on top of the stage.
  3. And when the victim finally showed, he shot him from on high!
  4. That's the truth your little re-creation showed.

Rebuttal: Agent Lang's Logic[edit | edit source]

Present Mr. Deacon's Murder Notes on statement 3. The bullet entered his body in the abdomen and exited through the shoulder. The bullet couldn't have traveled like that if the killer was standing on the stage! There is one parameter that was flawed in the virtual re-creation, and that was The killer's and victim's locations. The victim was the one standing on top of the stage! As the footprints now lead to where the killer is standing, it can be safe to assume that the killer was also wearing a badger costume. That means that the murderer could have been another kidnapper. Agent Lang still doesn't accept Officer Meekins' innocence, though.

Argument: Agent Lang[edit | edit source]

Shi-Long Lang's Argument
- Another Bit of Proof -

  1. I ask that you take another good look at the tire marks over there.
  2. The three marks are indicative of the Blue Badgermobile.
  3. That story Officer Meekins told about that shop on wheels getting stolen was just a lie.
  4. He drove the Blue Badgermobile here and committed the murder.
  5. Then, he used the car to move the body to the garage in the Wild, Wild West Area.

Rebuttal: Another Bit of Proof[edit | edit source]

File:AAIME crime03b.png

Present the Blue Badgermobile at the second statement. The Blue Badgermobile could not have left the marks behind the stadium. Present the Blue Badgermobile's tires as proof. The tires don't have any mud on them! The Pink Badgermobile and Proto Badgermobile could've made those marks, but since Oldbag probably isn't related to the case, that leaves the Proto Badgermobile as the one responsible for leaving those marks. Suddenly, a man walks near the stadium calling for help before collapsing. It's Lance, the kidnapped man! He says he was held at the Wild, Wild West Area and escaped through the underground floor. He also recalls that the kidnappers were wearing costumes when they escaped and that one of them was a woman. Agent Lang once again chases us off the crime scene and keeps Oldbag and Ema for questioning. The chapter now ends.

Bad Ending Five: If you run out of logic here, Lang accuses Edgeworth of interfering on the case. Also, he orders his men to arrest Meekins of his crime.
