People are creatures of habit, they love coming back to a place to find new things. However when people return to a place expecting new things, only to find that nothing has changed, they'll get frustrated and eventually will move on to new more interesting sites.

When to update[edit | edit source]

For news websites, blogs, company pages, and more, an updating and evolving front page is critical.

When not to update[edit | edit source]

Not all pages on your site need to be continuously updated. If you're updating a particularly old page, it may be worthwhile to note any changes in the bottom of the page as an addendum, to make it clear to readers what changed since they last saw it.
