GNOME is a graphical environment designed for the GNU/Linux Operating System, but also works on other platforms (see Supported Platforms). It is designed to be usable, accessible, free (see Free Software) and internationalized. For more on GNOME see about GNOME.

The word GNOME, which is pronounced "Guh-'nome", (as it's part of the GNU Project) is an acronym for GNU Object Model Environment, and is written in all capital letters.
