Engineers and Architects used new mathematical formulas to strengthen buildings. Other scientists wanted to know about the heavens, and what was beyond the confines of the Earth. They studied astronomy to learn about the sun, stars, and planets. While studying the heavens, they learned that the earth revolves around the sun. All of these new ideas led to the making of a more accurate calendar.
