Horticulture/What Is a Lawn?

From Wikibooks, open books for an open world
{{{1}}}

The definition of a lawn is often in the eye of the beholder. The most common definition is an area of mowed grasses, though lawns often contain broadleaf plants as well either as weeds or as desirable components. The common element is that lawns are maintained by regular mowing, as opposed to meadows or fields which are mown less frequently.
