To divide, cells go through a process called the cell cycle. The cell cycle consists of 6 steps, and the steps are: Interphase, Prophase, Metaphase, Anaphase, Telophase, and Cytokineses. An easy way to remember the order of the cell cycle is: Is Pat mad at the cat? Also some people group prophase, metaphase,anaphase,and telophase together and call it mitosis. Below is a diagram of what happens during the cell cycle.
