The Manhattan is a classic American cocktail.

• 1 shot Rye or Canadian whiskey
• 1/2 shot Sweet vermouth
• Angostura bitters

• Maraschino cherry

1. Pour whiskey and vermouth over ice in a mixing glass
2. Add a dash of bitters
3. Stir and strain into a cocktail glass
4. Garnish with a cherry

• The Perfect Manhattan (half dry vermouth, half sweet vermouth)
• The ratio can be made sweeter or drier
• Brandy Manhattans are popular in some regions
